Silk-screen printing

The silk-screen printing process is articulated, and involves a set of phases to be carried out in a well-defined order. The different types of screen printing depend on the procedures and on goals and they can be very different from each other; for example textile screen printing, graphic screen printing, industrial screen printing, artistic screen printing.

For each color to be printed a frame must be created, once the stencil has been drawn or transferred to the frame (using various techniques), it is placed on the chosen support and the ink is spread over the entire frame. At this point, the ink passes through the open spaces and is deposited on the support which can be, for example, paper, canvas, fabric. The frame is then removed and the support is let to dry. The frame can be reused after being cleaned.
